Working with kids has its challenges. They are growing and changing and they are also extremely curious. There are, however, amazing advantages to working with kids. Children remind us of what it is to see the world for the first time, and children remind us of innocence and what it is to truly be your own person. If you are looking for a career where you can have children in your life, here are four jobs you can look into to bring the magic of childhood into your daily routine.
Teacher
The number one job for working with children is being a school teacher. Preferably, an elementary school teacher. You will help children learn and become their best selves as they become social and discover the world and society. What makes this career even better is that you get to play a very important part in helping children make the best life they can. Many people say their teachers were some of their biggest mentors in life, and you can be that person.
Nurse
No one wants to see a child sick, but everyone wants a sick child to get better. That phenomenal job goes to a nurse. Nurses are there to hold your hand when times are scary, and if you go to nursing school to be a pediatric nurse, you will be helping kids get and feel better every day. You can be there to make them laugh, give them strength, and stand by their side as they go through surgeries, treatments, and check-ups. There is nothing more gratifying than seeing a child smile when they know they are better, and you can play a very pivotal role in making that moment happen.
Child Psychologist
Unfortunately, some children experience traumas. There are a variety of reasons for this happening, but when it does, there is always someone on the other side willing to help a child understand and give them the tools and building blocks they need to heal and start an amazing life. A child psychologist is just the kind of person to do this. You will get to meet some pretty amazing kids who are ready to start their life anew and change their narrative. You will be the one that will give them the courage, the understanding, and the ability to turn their past darkness into a bright light. A person with this gift is truly a light in a child’s life, and that person can be you.
Clown
It may seem a bit over the top, but isn’t that the point of wanting to be a clown. Not only can you run away with the circus, but you can perform on a smaller level at parties, in hospitals, and at special events. You will make kids laugh, sing, and play in a way that they were meant to, and all the while you will always be the giver of joy in a child’s life. And clown college seems to be a pretty amazing experience.
