If you live in a small space, storing your household items and making them fit in could make your home look all congested and clumsy. Trust me; you don’t want any of that- or let’s say you deserve better than that, especially if you’re a minimalist like myself.
Well, it’s time to switch on your creativity with these genius storage ideas and transform your small space into a simple, ‘spacious,’ and uncluttered quarter.
1. Convertible Furniture
Just as the name suggests, convertible furniture is the real deal when it comes to managing the space in your home.
For instance, you can convert a drop-leaf table into a desk, dining table, or console. You can as well convert your bed frame into a sofa or reading area. Convertible furniture is available for purchase online and in your local stores, and it can help you manage your small space better.
2. Short Length Of Shelves
Short-length shelves can be a perfect place to store items that you use very often in the kitchen.
They do not need to be very wide either; they just need to be broad enough to accommodate items, like your dishes and everyday cooking essentials (aside from your cooking pots, of course; you can create a dedicated space for that).
3. Bookshelves
If you’re in the habit of stacking your books on your reading table or the floor, you might want to consider using a bookshelf instead.
Moreso, the floor of your small space needs to be as roomy as possible for proper air circulation and to make your room appear spacious. The best part is that your home will look more organized, and you can insert your favorite trinkets, glasses, and other decors into your shelf to clear up more space.
4. Wall Hooks
Wall hooks are space-saving tools. They are functional in the kitchen as knife holders, utensils rack, hang cookware, and other accessories.
Likewise, wall hooks are handy in the bathroom to hang your towels, and they are the go-to for hanging your coat- They are available in various designs, shapes, and sizes and can make life a lot easier for you.
5. Vary Cabinet Types
One of the tricks that always worked for me each time I lived in a small space was varying my cabinet. I understood that I would not save space by using only cabinets across my home, so I added drawers and open shelves to store my items more effectively and beautify my home in the process.
For instance, I had a cabinet in my bathroom where I stored toiletries, extra towels, and so on. But I added an open shelf in the area above and around the toilet, and I adorned it with fragrance, a pot of my favorite flower, and other mini items.
Guess what? My friends totally loved the transformation, and I felt satisfied that I was maximizing the space instead of constantly feeling choked in.
6. Fold-Down Desk
Sometimes you just want to sit at the desk and read your favorite novel or launch that new blog on your PC. Either way, your bed may not sound like a great place to do that, and that’s when you realize your room is too small to contain any additional furniture.
Well, you can still do everything you need to by finding a Fold-Down Desk that you can affix to the wall of your room. It’ll save up space and help you achieve your goals every time you need to.
Did you also have a challenge managing your small space like myself, or is that what you’re currently experiencing?
