It’s a lazy Saturday morning. We usually hang around the house, eat a late hearty breakfast and watch a movie. But what if we did something interactive instead? What if, instead of all of us staring at a screen, we created something together? This is how I found Allessimo Puzzles!
I was looking for something age appropriate, not too messy, that I could do with my kids in the living room! I just got this Fairy unicorn 3D puzzle and constructed it with my daughter!
Who is Allessimo?
Allessimo is a puzzle company that started out as a toy line. They were created to inspire and empower children to create, explore and be hands on!
Right now, Allessimo has children wooden 3D puzzles that you put together and then paint/sculpt. They have animals, mythical creatures, cars and a bunch more!
They claim to be easy to construct and provide hours of play. So my daughter and I opened the 3D sculpt clay unicorn puzzle and tried it for ourselves!
Allessimo Wunder Clay Fair Unicorn
My daughter, like every other 7 year old, loves unicorns. When I showed her the box, she flipped out! She was so excited.
I opened the box, scanned the code for the instructions and got started! It looks complicated at first but we took it step by step and it was a great DIY imagination promoting activity for the both of us.
We started by unpacking and looking at all our materials. Then we constructed the wooden parts. They were all numbered, so this was very helpful and made it easy. Daisy took the reins (pun intended) and she put it together.
After we did the “bones” of the project, we started with modeling clay. The clay was not sticky and felt more like foam. It didn’t stick to our clothes, or my carpet or couch (which it came in contact with all of those things!). I was so thankful the materials were well thought out.
After the clay was molded to the shape, we added the wings and sparkly details. Daisy was so proud of our little project.
Allessimo Promotes Family Bonding
Overall I think it took us about 30 minutes total to unpack, figure it out and build this masterpiece of a unicorn. It was pretty fun!
The most enjoyable part of this puzzle building experience was the time together. We weren’t looking at a screen. The iPad was put away. The TV was off. My phone was charging in another room.
My daughter and I worked together and it was a rare moment that I wish we had more of. I think I will buy more of these types of crafts and make this a Saturday morning tradition!
