The bathroom is a very important room in the house. We take care of ourselves in there and we couldn’t own a house without one! So that means you need to spend some time thinking over whether or not your bathroom is right for you. Too small and it’s completely cramped, too large and it echoes with a clinical feeling. But where do you start to make sure your bathroom looks as fresh as it can do? Whether you just think you need some more soaps, or you’re moving into your first apartment all on your own, or you’re planning an entire rehaul of the space because the counters aren’t right, these are the ideas for you.
The Essentials
So your bathroom doesn’t always need to have an entire rehaul done on it, it simply needs to be made a little more practical. And you can do that plenty when you have all the supplies you could ever need in your cupboards and soft towels on your racks.
First of all, make sure you’ve got a good shower curtain to hang up on the rail. It needs to be opaque enough to keep you comfortable, and it definitely needs to be able to keep the water in! It can also be a good way to cover up a shower you’re not proud of, whether there’s some mold or flaking paint that needs taking care of.
You’re also going to need a trash can in there to deal with the multiple things we throw away when we’re in the bathroom. Change it once a week at least to keep the space smelling fresh, and try to find one with a lid to make sure you’re not constantly having to look at any waste.
Make sure your bath mat is durable and soft to the touch. No one wants to be stepping out onto cold floor after a shower, and you’ll want your mats to hold up against the many feet that cross them!
Some Comforting Style
When it comes to spending time to yourself, the bathroom is usually on the top spot next to the bedroom for relaxation. And that means your bathroom needs to be a space designed entirely around you, and to make you feel clean, healthy, and good in yourself. If you’re getting out of the bathroom as soon as you can, make some quick changes.
If you’ve got more of an antique style in your bathroom, there’s a lot you can do to make it seem a little more modern. Not only can you refurbish it cheaply for a professional finish, which you can learn more about here, but you can also get covers to disguise any patterns you don’t like. Contact paper can very easily create that marble finish you’ve been looking for. This makes renting a place a lot more sightly.
Your bathroom needs to be your haven, and it can very easily become that with a few purchases from any local store around you!
