Stovetop Popcorn is also fun to make with your kids. It can be a little hot and dangerous but gathering the ingredients together is always a blast. If you already pay close attention to what your feeding your family chances are you have everything you need to make stovetop popcorn. Lets get started!
Ingredients needed:
Large Stock Pot
2-3 table spoons of Coconut Oil
1/4 cup of Popping Corn
1 tsp Salt (optional)
1 tbs butter (optional)
Step 1:
Add coconut oil to the pot and place on High. Usually the coconut oil is somewhat solid. Let the oil liquify. Add three kernels of popping corn into the oil and 1tsp of salt. Cover with a lid and wait until you hear 1 or two of the three kernels pop.
Step 2:
Now add the 1/4 cup of popping corn, cover with the lid securely, and remove from the direct heat for 30 seconds. This 30 seconds will allow all the popping corn to reach a temperature just bellow popping temp.
Step 3:
After the 30 seconds return the pot to full heat and hold the lid slightly ajar to allow steam to escape. Move the pot back and forth on the stove top. The Corn should begin to pop soon and almost all at once.
Step 4: Once it sounds like all the popcorn is done dump it into a large bowl. Add the butter to the pan and melt. It will melt and brown slightly very quick. Pour the melted butter onto the popcorn and enjoy!
