We have a countless myriad of options to look good. The makeup industry is coming up with new products to help make the most out of their contours and facial structure. A smokey shade for your eyelids and sumptuous lipstick tones can make you look ten times better than when you looked in the mirror this morning. But we have to ask ourselves honestly if that makes us feel better? Looking good isn’t the same as feeling good, yet both are connected to each other. No matter how many different foundations and eyeliners we put on, what really makes us feel good is remaining a feminine shape. We’re born with our face, we can’t change it unless we want to go further with cosmetics, but the curves of hips, waist and more can be altered by us. We can and should be making the effort to first, get our body looking and feeling good before we work on our facial beauty. It all begins with what we put in our mouths.
Alkaline is our friend
Salads on their own are bland and quite frankly, we avoid them if we know we can make up a good enough excuse to. That’s not acceptable if you want to start cleansing your insides. Foods that have antioxidants in their molecules need to be treated like a godsend. Heavy thick leafy vegetables are going to cleanse your pores of poor quality oils and used up chemicals in our skin. Alkaline foods are enriched with Vitamin A and E as well as Omega 3 oils. All of these minerals and vitamins are great to help plump up the skin, stretch and clear it.
Craving large portions
The thing to understand about portions is that we will naturally only want food that is proportional to our body size and weight. Our brains know how much calories we need and our how we intake. That’s why when we eat too much, our body needs to store the extra energy as thicker visceral fat. High water content foods help us to feel fuller than we actually are, which is great if you know you are craving more food than you need. This includes eating more vegetables, fruits and fish. Sometimes, however, none of these foods will solve the issue as it can be in your genetics to want to consume more than you need. In these uncommon but scientifically proven cases, weight loss surgery may be the only answer. A lap band surgery ties a knot around the stomach so you feel full after a meal in proportion to your intended weight.
Acid is a challenge
The more fruits with moderate acidic pH levels we consume, the more our digestive system speeds up. The acid simply increases the amount of acid our stomach produces, which in turn, allows our food to essentially drown in it. This breaks up our meals quicker and at the same time, causes us to feel like we’re more full than we are. A friendly volatile reaction is good for us every other day.
Our face is like no other in the world so we make the best out of it with makeup. We should be treating our bodies in the same way, because it too, is one of a kind. Eating the right food and in proportion will lead us to look and feel good in our proportions.
