Perhaps you’ve been scouring the internet looking for a vacation suitable for the whole family, but you’re finding them all too expensive. While we can save up for years on end to go to a theme park, if we want to spend quality time as a family, we don’t necessarily have to pack everything in the car, go 500 miles away, and experience two weeks of stress! There are other ways to have fun as a family, to bond, and save some money! What are some suitable family-friendly experiences they don’t cost an arm and a leg?
Use Your Brain!
No, not by taking them to a museum! But instead, think about something that really engages their brain! You can go for an escape room detective experience. Escape rooms are incredibly popular right now, and it gives you all that opportunity to work together as a family to solve the problem. And also, it’s incredibly fun! Sure, the siblings may be at odds with each other on occasion, but once you’ve managed to escape “the room,” you will feel an overwhelming sense of achievement! This isn’t your cup of tea, why don’t you go to Laser Tag? Laser Tag is a perfect way for you all to get out, have some exercise, but also have a good laugh!
Go On A Nature Trail
If your children don’t get out much, and exercise is way off your agenda, getting in the car and go a little bit out of town to find one of the many nature trails around. It gives you all the opportunity to experience the great outdoors, enjoy some sunshine, but hopefully, they will feel so tired after hiking up and down a mountain, they will sleep all the way home! It’s one of those things that you should get into the habit of early in life. Children can so easily sit in the back of the car playing on their video games, but giving them the opportunity to go on a nature trail, it’s something you can all do the family, and save a lot of money while you’re at it! Pack a lunch, and you’ve got a very cheap day full of adventure!
Heading To The Zoo
These days, zoos are built for the entire family. Even if you got one child that doesn’t like the idea of animals, you could keep them occupied with other things. If you’ve got a preschooler, a lot of these places come with playgrounds that allows them to run around, and while you’re at it, you can all sit down and have some food. Be sure to pick a day when the weather is perfect. The zoo, or even a petting zoo, is one of those family-friendly days out that gives everybody in appreciation of the animal kingdom.
You don’t have to go to a theme park to have some quality family time! But if you feel that it’s the one way for your children to get the benefits of time away from home, it’s always worth keeping an eye out for last-minute deals. But if money is a major issue (which it is for most of us), there are family-friendly experiences that don’t weigh so heavily on your wallet!
