Mmmmmmmm, scarf weather is so yummy. There are few things better than a cuddle in a comfy sweater on a crisp autumn day. I love the sound of a chunky boot against freezing cold pavement. After the September Vogue Issue comes out, most of the country puts away the flip flops & Bikinis. (Not Miami Beach, but thats a different post.) The fashion world transforms into a new season as the season outside transitions. You see the warmer colors start to surround you and the clothes follow. I enjoy Fall Fashion most – out of all the seasons. You don’t need to wear a ton of layers to keep warm like you do in Winter time. In some places, fashion isn’t even a thought. It’s more of a, “cover every inch of your body with anything so you don’t freeze to death when going from the parking lot to the destination”! And in the summer, it’s so ridiculously hot in south florida, where I live. Some days in the dead heat of August , all you can stand to put on is a thin cotton slip dress and a pair of flips flops. Because its completely unacceptable to walk around naked. Although some try. Hard. Come on, it’s South Beach. You can walk into an establishment wearing just a bikini and a purse, order a Pizza, and no one will bat an eye. Most people won’t even look up. (Not that I have tried this personally, but i’ve witnessed it plenty of times.) Whew ok, enough about the hot summers here. My point is that there is a lack of fun fashion options in extreme heat or extreme cold. But then there’s beautiful autumn. Where you can layer and play with coats, scarves, boots, dresses, ect. It’s the most fun season you will have with your clothes. I’m a bit jealous of other parts of the world that have this 50s-60s weather way more often! So enjoy it while it lasts. Here are a couple of my outfits from my last vacation where the average temperature was right around 60 degrees. Mmm, just thinking about it now makes me miss it. My biggest tip for making the perfect fall ready outfit is to layer. Don’t just wear one sweater and a pair of jeans with sneakers. Try an open sweaters with a pattern dress and leather boots. Or a floppy boyfriend tee with a colorful scarf and distressed jeans. Or an open plaid shirt with a plain tee underneath. It really changes the drab to fab very easily.
Here is where you can buy some key pieces….
