“Let it go! Let it go!” Ok, now that the Frozen song is stuck in your head for eternity, let’s talk about this sequel, Frozen 2 coming out this November 22, 2019!
Original Movie. Frozen
Remember this little Disney film that turned into an epic phenomenon? Frozen came out in 2013, and changed the world forever. It is STILL the highest grossing animated film of all time. Ever! That is quite the title – and who else should own it but Disney?!
“Frozen” also won an Academy Award® for best animated feature film of the year. The film’s iconic song, “Let It Go,” with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, also won an Oscar® for best achievement in music written for motion picture, original song. Anyone remember Travolta introducing Idina Menzel? YouTube it, because it is hilarious!
The original Frozen from 2013 was rated PG and was an adventure + comedy animation. The plot was about a newly-crowned Queen Elsa who accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home kingdom into an infinite winter, her sister Anna teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition. There was a happy ending and we all loved it!
After the success of the original – is it any surprise that Disney decided to give us a little bit more in the form of a sequel?
Frozen 2 | The Sequel
I was ready for the sequel when the credits rolled on the last one! I felt like it needed more, there was so much more story to tell about these beloved characters!
The clues to the plot has been released by Disney and they are as follows: “Why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she’ll set out on a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.”
What?! Does this mean we are getting a new Disney villain? Do we find out HOW Elsa got her powers? And who is “Nokk?” Elsa encounters Nokk—a mythical water spirit that takes the form of a horse—who uses the power of the ocean to guard the secrets of the forest. I have a feeling this movie will delve deeper into the Norwegian culture and folk tales!
Who is coming back in Frozen 2?
The charters were perfectly casted and THANKFULLY they are all returning to voice the sequel of Frozen 2! The voice cast of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad are back! As well as the directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. It will be produced by Peter Del Vecho.

Frozen reminds me of such a happy season in my life; I was pregnant with my oldest. Then when the movie released on DVD I would watch it almost weekly and then ran all my Marathon training runs with the soundtrack playing in the stroller for her to listen too. Wow; such a happy time! I can’t wait for Frozen 2!!
Yes, a much-loved story by children and I know of some who just watched it again and again – so it had an impact. I’m sure they would line up eagerly for number 2!
I’m so excited for Frozen 2! I thought that the first one was wonderful :). I hope we get to find out how and why Elda has powers. That would be awesome! Hope you enjoy it when you see it hun ^^
