If you’re a mom, then you know the struggles of finding fun activities to do with your toddler. Toddlers can get bored easily, and they usually want to be doing something all day long! This blog post is written for moms who need some new ideas on how to keep their toddlers entertained. We will explore four different activities that are sure to entertain kids of any age, including toddlers!

#1 Have an arts and crafts day
The first fun activity to do with your toddler is having an arts and crafts day! This doesn’t need to cost you a lot of money, as most things can be made from items that are found around the house. For example, giving your child paper plates and paint will let them make pictures like they would on their easel or finger painting on large sheets of butcher paper. This gives kids lots of space for creativity without spending any extra cash (or time!) on supplies.
If you want some ideas about what kinds of art projects toddlers may enjoy, this list has over 20 different easy craft ideas–including many that only require paper products! If you’re thinking, “my kid isn’t into arts and crafts,” don’t worry too much–many toddlers can be picky about what kinds of crafts they like. But, there are many different ways to make arts and crafts fun for little ones!
For example, some kids enjoy painting more than others–try having your child paint with their feet or hands instead of brushes to give them a new texture experience (check out this post on our blog all about sensory play ideas).
#2 Go to the park
The next fun activity to do with your toddler is going to the park! This can feel like a daunting task, especially if you have a child that never wants to leave the house. But toddlers love being outside and exploring new places, and nothing will tire them out more than playing on slides and swings for hours at a time.
If you’re not used to taking walks with your toddler during daylight hours, consider starting small by walking around the block with your Ickle Bubba or even just in your own backyard (if they are still too young for long-distance walking). You can gradually extend these days as you get more confident about their stamina levels.
#3 Create a scavenger hunt
The next fun activity to do with your toddler is creating a scavenger hunt! This can be especially exciting if you think about what kinds of items the kids will get to find. You could, for example, ask them to collect things like green leaves or acorns–which might turn into an educational game as well (kids love learning new facts!).
This virtual treasure hunt list provides even more ideas on different types of items that kids may enjoy finding when they’re out and about. However, it’s also important not to forget that toddlers are still at an age where simple playtime in nature is just as much fun without any extra added incentive.
#4 Have a bake-off
The final fun activity to do with your toddler is having a bake-off! This can be especially useful if you’re not sure what kinds of activities they might enjoy. For example, you could ask them to help cut out shapes for cookies or cupcakes and then let them decorate once the treats come out of the oven. Or, even simpler than that – you may just want to give kids some sweet goodies and see how creative they can get on their own (just keep in mind that this will likely turn into a mess). Either way, baking together as a family unit is always an enjoyable experience.
