Looking fashionable doesn’t have to be hard work and you don’t have to go to fashion school just to learn about the basic styles that are available either. In fact, it is more than possible for you to create your own fashion style and when you are able to do this, you will soon find that it is super easy for you to really take your style to that next level.
Genres
The first thing that you need to do is write down every single clothing genre you can think of. This can include bohemian, minimal, hipster, edgy, classic and more. You can then cross off any that you absolutely know that you are not going to be happy with as this will help you to find your own true style. When you have narrowed your choice down you can then begin to explore each option individually. Think about making a word cloud with the phrases that you have and also think about the terms that describe you the most. You can write the words that appeal to you the most in the biggest font, and the ones that don’t really relate in the smallest. When you are trying to navigate your way through the fashion world, you will soon see how this can really make a difference to your sense of style and it can also help you to expand into other fashion worlds that you would otherwise not have thought about. Remember that your word cloud doesn’t have to be a 5-minute job, because you can make it take as long as you want. The more time you spend on it, the more you will be able to really process the way that you feel about certain clothing items and this is a fantastic starting point for you in general.

What do You Like?
The next thing that you need to do is go through your entire closet and then find out what you
are not happy with. You then need to find out what clothing items you wear the most as well. Think about what these items have in common, are they a similar colour? Do they have buckles? Zips? Patches? When you are able to know what you gravitate towards, you can then continue to build your own style. Of course, it is so important that you go through your entire wardrobe when you do this and you also need to make sure that you really put the time required into it as well. When you are able to do this, you will soon find that it is super easy to get the best result out of your wardrobe. Of course, if you know that you had some items that you once loved but not anymore then include these as well. For example, if you have a super old denim jacket that used to be your go-to item then don’t be afraid to get this out as well. Think about why you loved it, and why you don’t anymore. You can even include your reasons why in your word cloud as well if you want.
Compliments
The next thing that you need to do is try and pay attention to what your peers happen to compliment you on. This will work wonders for your self-esteem and it will also really help you to get that confidence boost as well. If you know that people are always complimenting you on certain items that you have then don’t be afraid to use these items in your new style. You have to remember that it can be hard to look at yourself objectively in the mirror, so by taking the opinions of others into consideration you can be sure to really get a good idea of what you want to wear and what occasion you want to wear it for. Again, any compliments that you have received, don’t be afraid to include them in your word cloud!
Comfort Level
You want the clothes that you are wearing to be comfortable. If the clothes that you are wearing are just not comfortable then this is not going to do you any favours. That’s not to say however that you should never step out of your comfort zone. It is always a good idea for you to try and experiment when you find a new style that you like and you should always push yourself to try and wear new colours as well. Sure, you may not feel as though those are your go-to colours but at the end of the day this can really help you to define yourself.
Don’t Follow the Trend
So many people spend so much time trying to follow the clothing trends that are out there at the moment but you should try and avoid this at all times. The main reason for this is because they just may not suit you and by doing this, you are really confining yourself in terms of what you think looks good and what doesn’t. You have to remember that fashion is all about exploring your own individuality and it is also about putting the work in so that you can create a style that works for you rather than just copying everyone else.

Remember that Fashion is Possible on a Budget
Another thing that you have to remember that it is more than possible for you to shop while you are on a budget. You absolutely don’t have to worry about how you are going to afford the clothing items you need when you shop at discount stores or even in the sales. If you are not sure if you can even afford this then consider looking into loans online to see if you can get some help and support with that.
So all in all, it is very possible for you to get all of the clothing you want on a budget and it is also possible for you to cater everything so that it meets your individual fashion style as well.
