Who doesn’t love to travel? One of the best things about travel is the accommodation. This is the chance to allow yourself to indulge in things that you usually don’t get to chance to indulge in during your regular life. Such as bottomless mimosas, fluffy towels, a sauna, and so much more. These are primarily the higher-end luxury hotels such as 4 and 5-star hotels. These types of hotels specifically focus on trying to create a very unique and unforgettable experience for their guests. Guests absolutely love this and this is exactly what helps make travel such a memorable experience. People love to be pampered away from home but why couldn’t this be at home as well?

While hotels are the perfect place for indulging, it’s a great idea to try and create this at home as well. Hotels are known for being pricey, sometimes you can expect to spend upwards of thousands just for one night with the family! While traveling and staying in hotels is great, this just makes it far too expensive. Besides, for some, traveling is still not an option at the moment. While you and the rest of your family deserve to pamper yourself every once in a while, you can make serious upgrades to your home and create that luxurious hotel experience all from your house. These are some fantastic ideas to achieve this!

Start small

Just because luxury hotels are expensive doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to spend an arm and a leg at home to make massive upgrades. No, if you’re wanting (and willing) to spend a lot then go ahead and do that but you realistically don’t have to. You can just start small, create some small changes and go from there. You don’t have to make any massive transformations, sometimes all it really takes is tiny changes as these can add up to be a whole bunch. So these are a few ideas on how you can start small for creating that luxurious hotel experience at home

Breakfast in bed

Who doesn’t love breakfast in bed? This is one of the finer things that luxury hotels provide. You have plenty of options for how you can serve yourself breakfast. You can simply whip yourself something up such as eggs, bacon, and toast and bring that to the best with you. You can make something tasty the night before and reheat it for yourself and take it to bed.

Alternatively, you can order food from services such as Takeaway or Uber Eats and then bring that to bed with you. Don’t forget the serving tray table as this is one of the bonuses and necessities for having a relaxing and mess-free breakfast while lounging in bed.

Sleep in

So depending on the type of traveler you are, you may allow yourself to sleep in or you force yourself to get up at the crack of dawn. But, when it comes to home, especially on weekends, why not try and sleep in? One of the perks of getting to be at home and having a free weekend would be getting the chance to just sleep in and lounge around in a robe all day. So why not just take your time? Just snooze for a while and maybe even get yourself a book to read when waking up.

Sip away on some cocktails

The fine-scale hotels often have their own signature cocktail. But even if they don’t you can still expect to sip away at some tasty cocktails. So why not make your own? Even if cocktails aren’t your thing, you can create a mocktail for yourself or even opt into having some flavored water. Just adding some cucumbers, lemons, and mint leaves to your water can truly make all the difference.

Scents

Hotels always have a clean smell to them, don’t they?  There are plenty of ways you can create a nice and refreshing aroma to linger around your home. You have to get yourself a luxurious candle, incense, air freshener, but there are plenty of other options for getting a nice-smelling home.

Clean up the house

Think about it, hotels tend to be squeaky clean, right? Of course, your home doesn’t have a team of highly trained staff to clean up the home. But you can spend a day or two cleaning up the house (with your family teaming up to help) so you have the weekend to just relax in a nice clean home. Another tip would be to make the bed every day in your bedroom, this alone helps with creating that luxurious hotel feeling.

Invest in high-quality coffee

Sometimes (but not always) luxury hotels will have fantastic coffee. This may be small, but it can help with creating a difference. If you have the money and resources, why not try out some new coffee beans? This could be a game-changer!

Work on your food presentation

If you’re planning on cooking at home, you could look into taking a food presentation class. This alone will make you feel like you’re eating Michelin star food. While the idea of food presentation sounds difficult, it actually doesn’t have to. It’s all about experimenting, but getting some solid color plates and dinnerware could help.

Ideas for bigger changes

Take a look at your bedroom

Compare your bedroom to a hotel room, what are some of the major differences? Is it the pillows? The linen? The décor? The mattress? It may be high time to give your bedroom a needed makeover.  But maybe something as small as a fresh bouquet could make all the difference.

Invest in your outdoor living space

If you have a backyard, you shouldn’t neglect it at all. What makes the outdoor of a hotel feel so luxurious? It’s their outdoor furniture, their plants, and their pool! The idea of getting a pool could be a fantastic way to get you and your whole family to enjoy being at home, especially in the summer. Just make sure to keep your pool safety up to date so nobody gets hurt or deals with any accidents.

Look into bringing some changes into your bathroom

The bathroom is usually the very first and the very last place that people go to in the day. Spas are known for being a relaxing place, and people tend to take showers to help them feel relaxed. So why not create a spa in your own bathroom? This doesn’t have to be extreme. You can simply clean up your bathroom and buy some new plush towels. But you could go the extra mile and install some new features such as a sauna. Saunas are known for having plenty of incredible health benefits.

Take a look at your home décor

The décor and furniture at a hotel tend to be very modern, sleek, and up-to-date, right?  This is something that you could easily bring to your own home as well. If your furniture looks a little old or shabby, maybe it’s time to give it an update? There are plenty of affordable furniture websites around but from time to time even IKEA has some very visually appealing and chic furniture that you can try out as well. Just do some research to figure out what you’re wanting and how this could be incorporated into your home.

Most hotels tend to have a dark-colored theme so you can expect colors such as dark brown, black, and navy blue. But of course, other hotels will have a cohesive color theme such as solely neutral colors. So just think about what you’re wanting from your home and maybe even look around at Pinterest or magazine for some interior inspiration.
