You are taking a deep breath of fresh woodsy air. No TV. No Wifi. Just the fresh air and your imagination……
Here are a few things we did this past trip that can keep your kiddos entertained while camping!
Do a Simple Scavenger Hunt!

Make a Nature Bracelet
Nature Bracelets! Duct tape wrapped with the sticky side facing out. This one can keep the kids entertained for hours – it’s also pretty fun for adults too!
Make a Love Catcher or Dream Catcher
Make a “Love Catcher”. We made a few and decorated our whole campsite.
This is a simple & easy craft. Gather a few short sticks, bring colored string, scissors, and stickers. This can be tweeked for any holiday.
Just buy different colored/themed string and stickers.
(Green for St Patricks, White & Pastels for Easter, Red&Green for Christmas, ect.)
Near to naptime, snuggle by the fire.
Collecting pine cones
Lay in the sunshine and go cloud gazing
Go for a walk!
You can walk around and meet the other campers.
People are usually quite friendly on camp grounds. (at least in my experience)
Practice your handstands!
(Ok maybe only Daisy & I do this sorta thing.)
I can’t express enough how important time together as a family – away from screens. Kids need eye contact and attention more than we realize. They seem to crave that stability of a family setting. As we were driving through the safari, there were herds of wildebeests and kulans. My daughter saw them and said, “Look! A family!”
It was precious & I want to remember that forever.
