I challenge you to find a better cinnamon roll recipe than this one! You can double or triple this recipe (which I usually do!) for a crowd or a hungry family. Fair warning though, this is not the healthiest recipe (lot of butter! wink wink) BUT it is the definitely one that warms the heart! I use mandarin oranges around the holidays and winter because they are at season peak freshness! I usually eat them along side the rolls because they go so well together!
Alright, before I bore you will more introductions – let’s just get right to the recipe! (Doesn’t it drive you crazy when bloggers write an entire memoir blog post before giving you the recipe? And you have the scroll to the ends of the earth to be able to see it? Not here, folks!)
MANDARIN ORANGE CINNAMON ROLLS
- 1 cup milk scalded and cooled
- 3 TBSP Butter
- 1 cup flour
- 3 eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 TBSP. yeast
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- mixed with
- 1/2 cups sugar
- granted rinds of mandarin orange & pieces of orange fruit meat if you’d like (which my kids do!)
- One package of powdered sugar
- juice of 1-2 mandarin oranges
- 1 stick of softened butter
- 2-4 tbsp of milk – enough milk to make nice glaze consistency
Glaze the rolls while still warm. Serve immediately and share with everyone!
