It’s that scary time of year again. Ghosts, goblins, witches, horror movies…and cluttered costumes. That is the scariest one of them all. Minimalists love Halloween too, we just don’t need a huge costume with a lot of working parts that is going to require a lot of storage, a lot of materials, and a lot of fuss. This Halloween, you can make a great costume that won’t break the budget or ruin all of your storage area layouts. Here are some minimalist Halloween costumes.
A Skeleton
It’s easy, it’s fun, it gets the point across. You can find a lot of skeleton jumpsuits that you can simply step into, paint your face to look like a skull, and you are out the door. You can keep the jumpsuit and wear it around the house to stay warm, or you can donate it or gift it to someone else. At the end of the night all you have to do is wash your face, and you can then slip into bed without a worry in the world.
A Clown
Clowns are another great costume for minimalists. A clown costume is usually one piece and you can step into it, zip it up, and be on your way. You don’t have to wear a wig if you don’t want to. All you have to do is paint your face in some traditional clown makeup, put on a party hat, and you are out the door and looking like you are part of the festivities.
A Cat
Being a cat is one of the most simple costumes around. There are so many ways to be a cat by wearing your own clothing and adding embellishments like a tail and some ears. Paint some whiskers on your face with a cute nose and you are ready to go. Other costumes can be spandex body suits with some face paint, or you can wear a warm, fuzzy onesie that will keep you warm in the autumn chill. Paint your face to look like a feline and you are off to trick or treat.
A Nurse
A beautiful simple costume to wear, you can go traditional and wear a white skirt and blouse with a nurse’s hat, or you can go modern and look like you’re about to go to nursing school in some scrubs with a stethoscope and clipboard. Either way, nurses are comfortable, and you will be taking on the town, going to a local Halloween party, or taking the kids trick or treating without any hassles.
A Magician
Now you see the costume, now you don’t! Once you take it off, you can put it back in your closet, donate it, or reuse it. You can make your own magician outfit out of clothes you already own. Items like the top hat, wand, and cape may be able to be rented from a store, so that the next day you can bring it back and it will be out of your house.
