Spring & Summer in Beech Mountain
In the summertime, you can find hiking and biking trails at Emerald Outback! The view is spectacular from the top. You can request a free trail map ahead of time here.
Don’t worry, the lift service at the Beech Mountain Ski Resort is open during the summer. There are mile high yoga classes, music festivals, outdoor family movie events and more!

Fall & Winter in Beech Mountain | Best Skiing and Snowboarding East of the Rockies
The cooler winter months is a very popular time to visit Beech Mountain! It has an average snowfall of 80 inches which makes it an excellent place to Ski & Snowboard.
Beech Mountain Resort has an elevation of 5,506 feet which makes it the highest ski area east of the Rocky Mountains!
The ski trails have multiple levels with a chairlift that takes you all the way up to a glass skybar! This incredible restaurant is named “5506” (for it’s elevation). It has a 2700sqft outdoor deck with indoor food and beverage service. 5506 Skybar offers top-shelf liquors, mixed drinks, wine, and, of course, a selection of Beech Mountain Brewing Company beers are on tap. There is also a coffee shop on the side called “Bald Guy Brew”
The ski village at the base of the ski resort slopes has a new snow-tubing park, craft beer brewery, huge gift shop with tons of souvenirs, and a ski/snow board school that focuses on snowboard lessons for beginners all the way up to advanced riders.
Down the street from the ski resort, there is a FREE sledding hill open daily for children 12 and under! Bring your own sleds!
Where to Stay in Beech Mountain | North Carolina Best Places to Visit
There is only one place you should stay in Beech Mountain and that is Pinnacle Inn. This is just across the street from the ski resort and right in the heart of the city. This is the only hotel/resort in the area that has amenities like: a headed indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, game rooms, tennis courts, put-put golf, a playground and more!
