The festive season is nearly upon us but itβs likely to be very different this year. Coronavirus restrictions in place around the world mean that a lot of the things that we normally enjoy, like Christmas parties, are not going to be possible. Or are they?

Even though you might not be able to have your normal Christmas party, you do still have some options. You could consider an outdoor get together, like camping, so everybody can stay at a safe distance. However, if you donβt fancy that, you can host a virtual party instead. As long as you put some time and effort into the planning, you can still get together with friends and family and have an amazing time. Here are some great tips on planning the perfect virtual Christmas party this year.
Go All Out With Decorations
You might think that you donβt need to bother with decorations since nobody is going to come to the house. But everybody can still see your home in the background and itβs great fun if everybody decorates their homes and you all take it in turns to give a virtual tour. Why not have fun with some handmade decorations, like diy christmas tree candles or a nice wreath? That way, you donβt miss out on the excitement of setting up for the party and making the house look amazing.
Find Some Entertainment
Virtual parties can be a bit of a drag if you donβt have any entertainment. Luckily, with everybody spending more time at home and getting inventive about how they spend their evenings, there are more options than ever. You could do a fun Christmas quiz, have a joint viewing party of your favorite Christmas movie, or even hire a company to do a virtual escape room.
Set A Dress Code
Setting a dress code is a fun way to get everybody involved in the Christmas spirit. Challenge everybody to wear their favorite Christmas jumper or even a festive fancy dress outfit and you will have a great time seeing everybody as they appear on screen.
Send Some Gifts
We all love getting gifts at Christmas and even though you canβt see people in person to give them their presents, that doesnβt mean you all have to miss out. In the lead up to the party, send some small gifts to everybody that is attending, with strict instructions not to open them yet. Then, when you are all together, everybody can open their gifts. Itβs not quite the same as doing it in person but it will still be great fun and you get to see their reaction.
Christmas may be tough for a lot of people this year. If you already feel down about not being able to see friends and family, itβs important that you think of ways to make the best of a bad situation. A virtual Christmas party is a great way to bring people together and have some fun this holiday season, so why not start planning yours today?
