So you have a layover at the Denver International Airport? I bet you are looking for the play area in the Denver International Airport (DIA). Is there a play area in the Denver Airport? No, there is not. Not Anymore!
Years ago, this huge airport offered a kid-friendly unsupervised play area for children to jump, play and explore. It was located on the mezzanine level of Concourse/Terminal B. This play area in the Denver Airport has since been remodeled and the play area is GONE as of 2019. There is no longer a playground at the Denver International Airport (DIA)

Children’s play area in Sea-Tac – not Denver – but you get the idea!
I can vouch for this myself because I recently visited with my kids and noticed that the play area in the Denver Airport was removed! I was so disappointed and so were my kids!
I will say that there is a Toy Store on the top floor of terminal B now. You can purchase toys and things for your kids here if you like – otherwise you will need to find something else to do with your kids!
Instead of mourning over the loss of the playground in the Denver airport, here are a few suggestions of what you can do to occupy your kids instead! Here’s how to entertain your kids in the airport!
Scavenger Hunt
This is one that you gotta print a head of time OR you can pull it up on your phone and cross it off on your screen as you go! But it’s always more fun when you print it out and the kids can cross it off themselves!
This should provide at least 30 minutes of entertainment depending on your kids age! But it’s a great way to entertain your kids in the airport!
TIP: Most of the “sit down” restaurants in the airport have crayons for the kids. Just walk up to the hostess and ask!

Snacks, Snacks, Snacks!
Did you just read that to the tune of lil jon’s “Shots” song? Ok, you are my people. When in doubt, food is a wonderful option for entertainment.
My personal favorite is the Ben & Jerrys in A Gates (center core). Old School Low Tech Games
Do you still remember how to play “Red Light / Green Light”? Or what about “Mother May I?” These low tech games are best for kids under 10, but can be LIFE SAVERS on long layovers and flight delays!
How to Play Red Light Green Light: One person is chosen to be ‘It’ (the traffic light) and he/she stands a good distance away from the other players with his back to them. The other players stand in a line facing It. When It calls ‘Green Light,’ the other players move towards him until he spins around, calling ‘Red Light.’
