Be still and know that I am God
Delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night.
There is a mental workout with yoga that is so key, and most people miss it. It takes a lot of concentration to get into and keep a yoga pose that is challenging. It takes concentration to complete a whole yoga flow, pose after pose without being distracted. There is a huge mental workout with yoga that can benefit all of us greatly. Even the Bible tell us to practice being still and meditating on specific things. Even back then, society and daily life was consuming. We are bombarded by distractions and entertainment at every corner, especially from our phones that are seemingly glued to the palms of our hands. Do you know how you feel today – or are you too distracted? Have you talked to God today- or are you too distracted?
Lets exercise your mind. At work today, find a quiet place and for 2-5 minutes – turn off your phones. Sit down. Close your eyes. Connect with whats going on in your mind. How are you feeling today? Just start talking, quietly or aloud. A lot of things will come up that you might not expect. God might bring things to the forefront that you’ve been suppressing. There might be pain you need to name and deal with. There might be joy you haven’t stopped to celebrate. Connect with whats going on inside of you, have an undistracted thought.
It might be the healthiest thing you do today!
