When you have babies in the house, then there can be so much joy at first baby smiles, but there can also be sleepless nights and a whole lot of stuff! Babies come with a lot of things. People love to buy new things for babies too, so you can accumulate a lot of stuff in the home. If you’d had more than one baby you also need to think about how much it can add up, because there is always going to be updated or newer things that you have bought. What can you do with it all once you no longer have a baby in the house? Here are some ideas to help.
Sort through what you want to keep
There are some baby items that you will really want to keep. It could be their first blankie or a toy that they loved, or perhaps the outfit that they wore when they came home from the hospital. For sentimental reasons, there will be some items that you’ll want to have. But then there are items that you do not need. Sorting through them will help you to decide what you do and don’t need and you’ll be able to see if any of them are in good enough condition to sell on to others.
Self-storage
If you have decided what you want to keep, and perhaps are keeping a few extras just in case you have another baby, then you might want to store them away from your home. If this is the case, which it can be for bulky baby items, then think about getting self storage units for your things, rather than having bulk and clutter at home when they’re not going to be needed on a daily basis. It can be a good way to keep what you want but then keep your home clearer from mess and clutter.
Sell online
There is big demand for baby items, and as long as they are still in a usable condition, you can sell them online quite easily. Of course, there are sites like eBay that you can sell them on, but you can also sell them on social media sites too. Facebook, for example, has a Marketplace section where people who live close to you can see what you are selling and message you through there. For bulky items that are easier to be collected rather than posted, it can make a big difference.
Baby clothes, as well as things like strollers, can all sell well. Just make sure that they are in good condition. In fact, branded clothing can sell really well online, so it is definitely something to consider if you have some good quality branded baby goods.
Donate
Locally and nationally, there will be a whole host of baby charities that you could donate items that are in good condition to. Shelters could also be another place to look, where mothers go to escape domestic abuse. If you’d rather donate than sell, then there will be plenty of worthy places.
