How Eco-Friendly is the REEF company?
What are these shoes made of? Eco-friendly can be a super vague term, kinda like the word “healthy”. So let’s break it down! My new REEF escape sling backs are 100% PVC free with eco-one enhanced biodegradability. Eco-one is an organic additive that enhances biogradation. It potentially shortens the time span that the sandal would occupy a landfill space one day. I highly suggest you hand down or donate your shoes before ever considering throwing them away.
My kiddos new sandal straps are 100% RPET derived from post-consumer plastic.
Are your Reef shoes Comfortable?
Next important question after “what are they made of” is “are they comfortable?”. Yes! Let’s discuss each pair of shoes in our family.
I actually gave away my other name brand jogging sneakers after using these for 2 weeks! I got the Women’s Cruiser in Wine color, size 7. It was true to size, I’m usually a 7. These trainers / sneakers have bounce back comfort and endless energy return!
I also got the REEF Escape Sling in Nude color, in size 7. OMG, I’m so in love with these. They are very comfortable and totally surfer-style. I’m not even lying when I say these are my favorite shoes. I will wear them anywhere and everywhere that I can.
When I yell (gently urge with passion) for my kids to get their shoes on in the morning, they keep chosing their REEF sandals – so that’s a big indicator of comfort. Kids at this age (4 & 6) aren’t looking for style, they just want something comfy! They found it with these new Little Ahi convertible sandals. I asked them why they love these sandals so much and Walter replied, “Because they make me bounce-ier!”
Daisy my daughter is wearing the “sandy toes color” and Walter is wearing the “brown olive color”, both are size 11/12.
The minimalist momma inside of me is so happy that they are the same size right now! They can swap and share!
