St. Johns River KOA, a popular spot on the river with beautiful views, is an ideal place to spend some time relaxing. My family and I experienced it for ourselves when we went there with our RV one weekend for campground fun and relaxation, and we were so glad we did! I want you all to know about this wonderful location and why I think it’s the best KOA in Central Florida.
Location
DeLand is a little north of Orlando, so if you’re traveling with kids (or are a kid at heart yourself!), I recommend the St. Johns River KOA as the perfect spot to set up camp and do water activities or even just relax and connect with nature. After all, St. Johns River is a top-tier bass fishing river where you can see dolphins, otters, and manatees. You may even see some of the monkeys that call the river home!
From the campground, you can drive to places like Disney World or Universal Studios. The site is also only 30 minutes from Daytona Beach. Talk about accessibility to more attractions!
Activities Around St. Johns River KOA
Despite its accessibility to other popular places, St. Johns River KOA caters to those who want to spend their whole time in the area with plenty of activities to keep you as busy as you want.
You can rent one of the kayaks or canoes from the front desk. Or you can rent a boat and fishing rod to try your luck at catching dinner.
Stop by the onsite St. Johns River Grille for fresh seafood and to have a cocktail on the rooftop tiki bar. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can also head to the Grille for live music!
Amenities and Offerings at St. Johns River KOA
Besides offering some great lakeside amenities, it is also important to know what can park here at the St. Johns River KOA. With more than 80 sites to choose from, we didn’t have issues finding the perfect spot to park our RV. This KOA can accommodate RVs up to 80 feet long and has 30 or 50-amp electrical connections. There are also tent camping sites available and a few cabins that you can rent if you don’t have your own tent or RV.
There is a picnic pavilion that we enjoyed with our temporary neighbors during our stay. If you’re bringing your dog along, there is a pet park where your fur friend can be off-leash and mingle with other dogs. There is also a pool to relax at and dip your toes in while staying there. Now I definitely loved that they had complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the park. I found it to be fairly reliable compared to other campgrounds in the Central Florida area.
Overall, we loved our experience with St. Johns River KOA in DeLand, Florida. It allowed my family and me a space to relax and connect with nature. The trip left us feeling happy and content. I’m sure you will too!
