Wishes Fireworks Show
“Wishes” is a Disney fireworks show. It is the night cap that closes the park. For half my life wishes has been the closing ceremonies to an epic day of family fun.
I remember watching it from every angle. I have seen it in front of the castle, to the sides, from the monorail, from the train station, directly in front of the castle and my favorite – behind the castle.
I remember in the early 2000s, My sister and I were bonding and having a wonderful day together in Disney. We sat behind the Castle to watch the fireworks one cool January night.
I was staring up at the castle as the fireworks started and sang along. My sister was looking down at the cobblestone. She tapped me and said, “Look!”. She pointed to the ground and showed me that each time the fireworks went off, the shadows of the trees beside us danced across the stones and reflected in the puddles. It was simply beautiful.
I listened to the wishes music and watched the fireworks reflected in the still water of the rain puddles and the shadows of the trees around us. It is still one of the fondest memories I have with my sister. Wishes holds a special place in my heart.
My children have seen it 3 times so far. May 11th is the last and final show. I will be watching it and will be live streaming it with my family.
Although I am excited for the new extravagant “Happily Ever After” show – I will forever remember Wishes. I look forward to the next closing ceremonies show that my children will grow up with.
