I call this my wishbone backbend…..
Ok, actually it’s called “Back Bend Camatkarasana Pose”. Some yogis call it the Wild Thing. It is a great heart opener pose. And an open heart is the perfect segway into this September National Yoga Month themed post.
“Stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be” – Elizabeth Gilbert
Modern Day Americana societies version of success is this: You get into debt earning a degree in a field you aren’t sure you love, buy the biggest house you can afford, fill it with things you don’t have time to enjoy, marry anyone before its “too late”, procreate a few times, spend all your time maintaining your oversized possessions while climbing the corporate ladder to the maximum level of your occupation.

“Really?!” to quote the great Jerry Seinfeld
I’m MORE interested in the experience of life than the “success”.
And if that means I never hoard up piles of money & get labeled RICH, that’s ok.
If I don’t reach the highest position in my field or pay for the highest degree, that’s ok.
It’s a dynamic life I am chasing. The experience, the chance, the peril.
A hunger for adventure.
What do YOU hunger for? What do YOU wish for?
Do you wish you could run that marathon, do that yoga pose, see the 7 wonders, taste that delicacy, hear God speak….?
Stop wishing and start moving towards your dreams.
A dream is a wish your heart makes. And a wish is ambition satisfied by action.
