I just took my kids to WonderWorks in Orlando and I want to tell you all about it! Maybe you’re wondering What is Wonderworks? What is there to do at Wonderworks? How long does it take to go through WonderWorks? Where is Wonderworks? I’ve got answers to all these questions in this article, keep scrolling!
What is WonderWorks?
WonderWorks is a science focused indoor amusement park with interactive exhibits. There are three floors of nonstop “edu-tainment,” with over 100 hands-on and interactive exhibits that serve an educational purpose to challenge the mind and spark the imagination.
WonderWorks has implemented new COVID-19 safety protocols. Here are some infection control measures I noticed while visiting
- Masks are mandatory and enforced. At 1 point, my daughter pulled her mask down to repeat something to me and a staff member promptly & gently asked her to put her mask back on.
- Hand sanitizer stations are everywhere.
- Floors are marked with social distancing reminders
- Staff jumps to sanitize “hands-on” exhibits after being used.
What is there to do at WonderWorks?
This is an indoor amusement park that is open 365 days per year! So no matter what time of year, you know it will be open!
WonderWorks has a glow-in-the-dark ropes course, a laser tag arena, a 4D XD motion theater, a magic comedy dinner show, and the Wonder Zones. The WonderZones are what includes the 3 stories of interactive exhibits on natural disasters and space discovery, a light and sound zone, an Imagination Lab, the Far-Out Art Gallery, and a physical challenge zone.
There are over 35,000 square feet of “edu-tainment,”. To get more information or purchase tickets, visit the site at: https://www.wonderworksonline.
What is Sensory Day at Wonder Works?
My kids and I visited on “Sensory Day”. These days are set aside where WonderWorks’ exhibits are altered to provide limited stimulation for children with special needs.
- Music is lowered
- Loud exhibits are turned off
- Flashing lights and strobes are off
Parents, caretakers, family, and children can come to WonderWorks on Sensory Day for only $10 per person. (Normally they are $35 for adults & $25 for kids 4-12) WonderWorks wants to make sure they provide a safe environment for kids to enjoy the facility without getting overwhelmed.
How long does it take to go through WonderWorks?
I visited with my 2 children who are under 10. It took us 2 hours to go through the entire museum. But we could have stayed longer and repeated some of those favorite exhibits. I would recommend it for 2-3 hours.
Where is WonderWorks?
