Due to the coronavirus, my local stores are all out of dish soap, clorox wipes and other cleaning products. This shouldn’t put anyone into a panic. How do I make my own homemade cleaning products? Here is how to make some cleaning products at home. These are the top 5 homemade cleaning products that are so easy to make!
Homemade Dish Soap or Hand Soap
• 3 tbsp liquid Castile soap
• 2 cups warm water
• 2 tsp glycerine
• 2 tbsp. white vinegar
• 10 drops lavender essential oil or any essential oil that you want! You can even leave it out if you don’t desire any smells.
Homemade Laundry Detergent in Bulk
• 10 cups Natural Borax Substitute
• 8 cups Soda Crystals
• 2 cups of Bicarbonate of Soda
• 3 bars of soap (Dial or Dove works really well)
• 35 drops of essential oil (only if you want a scent. You can skip this ingredient)
You can also make a batch with 4 cups of bleach added for extra cleaning whitening power!
Homemade Windex or Window Cleaner
• ¼ cup of white vinegar
• 1 tbsp of cornstarch
• 2 cups of warm water
This stuff is amazing and totally streak free! This is my favorite homemade cleaning product.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner or Tub Cleaner
• ¾ cup baking soda
• ¾ cup white vinegar
• 10 drops of tea tree oil
• 10 drops of lavender essential oils
Tea Tree Oil helps the surface become slick and keeps things from sticking to the tub / bowl in the future.
Multi-Purpose Multi Surface Cleaner (Homemade 409 spray)
• ¼ cup of white vinegar
• 1 tbsp baking soda
• 4 cups of hot water
• ½ a lemon
The lemon adds a disinfectant quality.
There you have it! Thats how you make homemade cleaning products. Don’t panic if you can’t find cleaning supplies at your local store. They probably still have baking soda, lemons, vinegar, and all the other supplies you need to make these recipes. You can also put together these recipes as a family and help pass the time at home!
Stay safe and remember to wash your hands!
